veteran facts!




1. A veteran is a person who was in the military(came back or didn't), the word veteran means "a person of long experiences."




2. The war that led to the creation of veteran's day was called WWI also known as World War I. Witch took place on the 11th hour on the 11th month(November) 11:00 a.m. 1918. But it was not called veteran's day, president Woodrow Wilson called it Armistice Day.




3. The war armistice means truce.


4. The armistice was signed 11.00 AM. November 11th on the 11th of November.




5. president Woodrow Wilson made armistice day a national holiday!




6. The tomb of the unknown soldier was in Arlington cemetery with a ceremony on Nov.11.




7. The person who changed armistice day to veteran's day was called Dwight Eisenhower




8. The difference between veteran's day and memorial day is memorial day is for honoring our lost hero's in battle, veteran's day is when people that served in the military are honored
